When does the NACD fiscal year begin and end?
NACD’s fiscal year begins October 1 of the current calendar year and ends September 30 of the following calendar year. The 2008 fiscal year began October 1, 2007 and will end September 30, 2008.
How does NACD’s fiscal year affect the fiscal year of my district?
If your district has a different fiscal year, the year differences should not conflict. It is up to your district to keep track of the fiscal year differences. For example, if your 2008 fiscal year ends in July and you send a payment in August of 2008, this will be credited toward NACD’s 2008 fiscal year, but will come out of funds for your 2009 fiscal year.
What do the different levels mean?
The NACD Membership investment is divided into 3 payment levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold.

What benefit(s) does our conservation district receive for being a paying member?
NACD supports all conservation districts by serving as one voice for natural resources conservation. Your national association assists with board development, community outreach, grassroots advocacy and legislative affairs, conservation education and much more. Leadership continuously seeks out new partnership opportunities that provide technical, financial and outreach resources to help your district meet local natural resource protection goals. Your national association is a key source of information sharing about conservation and environmental issues across the nation. NACD delivers a current, accurate and credible message to districts on emerging technologies, program opportunities, education activities and conservation tools to assist local constituents with their conservation and land use goals.
Your membership payments help the association focus on providing direct support to conservation districts and state associations.
Who should I contact with questions regarding my NACD District Membership Investment?

How often are District Membership Letters mailed?
District Membership letters are mailed quarterly, within the NACD fiscal year. The first mailing for the fiscal year is mailed in October.
How do I pay by credit card?
Credit card payments can be faxed to the NACD Headquarters office at 202-547-6450. Credit card payments will be charged upon receipt.
I have already paid, why am I still receiving letters?
If NACD receives any payment less than $775 and the “final payment” box is not marked, the payment will be processed as an installment payment. Your district will continue to receive invoices until payments reach a total of $775, or until the “final payment” box is marked.
What does the $1775 maximum mean?
The $1775 membership payment maximum was established by the NACD Board of Directors as a limit for large districts that can afford to pay more than the minimum amount. This was set in place so that districts with larger budgets can donate more than $1775 by choice, but will not feel obligated to do so.
