NACD Legislative Auction
NACD 2009 Annual Meeting • February 1 - 4, 2009 • New Orleans, LA
The NACD Legislative Auction is a long-standing Annual Meeting tradition and very successful fundraising event, and this year will be no different. Your item donations and bids will be welcome this year on February 3, 2009 at NACD’s 2009 Live Auction. You don’t want to miss this exciting, fun, high-energy event. There will be a wide array of must-have items up for bid, as well as good company and refreshments. Proceeds from the Legislative Auction are unrestricted funds and NACD will be able use them to serve our members through participation in lobbying and legislative functions on Capitol Hill.
See below for a list of Legislative Auction events: the Live Auction, Table Auction, and Drawdown. Please note that in an effort to make this year’s event better than ever, a few changes have been made to this year’s format.
We'll see you there. Don’t forget your wallets!

Legislative Auction Events
Live Auction
Auction night is a well-loved and highly attended tradition where the spirits are high and the bids are even higher! Our top-selling items range from spurs, jewelry, and artwork to handmade quilts and trips.
Each state association is invited to donate items to auction at this annual event. Scroll to the bottom of the page if you are in search of fresh ideas for fun and interesting items to donate!
Table Auction
The Table Auction is a new part of the Legislative Auction event this year. It is a continuation of donated auction items but in a silent auction format. It will take place simultaneously the Live Auction event. The table auction is a fun and convenient way for our low-key auction attendees to bid on and purchase items of interest to them.
Drawdown
Players compete for the chance to win $500 cash. With only $20 in the pot, you can walk away a winner! Tickets cost $20 apiece and go into a pool. Out of that pool of tickets, ten tickets are pulled at regular intervals until the end of the Live Auction. The owners of the tickets that are drawn will have a choice: they can accept defeat, or they can buy back in for another $20 dollars, at which point their ticket will be put back into the running for the grand prize. The winning ticket will be drawn at the end of the Live Auction event from the remaining tickets. The holder of the winning ticket wins $500 cash.
Online Auction Catalogue
The online auction catalog will be updated as auction donations are confirmed and allow meeting attendees to scope out auction items before the event. A printed catalogue will also be provided onsite in attendees' meeting registration packets.

Auction Item Donation
NACD is grateful to all of our generous members and partners who donate auction items to help make this fundraising effort a huge success. We encourage you to give early thought to your item donations for this year’s event. The sooner the auction items are donated, the more time we will have to promote your items. And remember, all donations are tax deductible.
